The transferable skills I gained in this class include active reading which is vital in pharmacy school because active reading is the best way to learn material from text. Active reading is also important to pharmacists since you need to be able be critical of some literature about drugs that was made by research using bad science that may have an agenda. It is important to know the truth about a drug to keep your patients safe. The essay writing, revision, and citation that we learned is also extremely vital to my future as a pharmacist. Half of the battle in research is being able to correctly relay the information that you have gathered into a paper and all of the writing and revision that we have learned is extremely important for that process. Proper citation is also very important in pharmaceutical research since you could get in a lot of trouble for not correctly citing sources in an academic paper.
